Marriage Preparation

Congratulations on your engagement! We give marriage preparation courses for couples where at least one of the betrothed lives in the parish. If you are not sure about the boundaries of the parish, please ring the office. In any case, please make contact with the parish priest as soon as you can, and certainly before you make any decisions about dates. Marriage preparation should take 6 months from the first enquiry.

We run course 3 times a year: Spring, Summer and Autumn. There are approximately 8 sessions including paperwork. If these times are inconvenient or if you have missed the boat, then you may be able to join a course in one of our partnership churches: Our Lady of Lourdes, Wanstead, or St. Thomas of Canterbury, Woodford Green. Please contact them for further help. We will complete the paperwork with you here in any case.

If your marriage or convalidation is to take place outside of this parish there is a charge of £20 by the diocese for the administration. If it is to take place outside England and Wales, then the charge is £50. If the marriage takes place here, we expect a donation to cover costs.

Sessions start at 8:30pm prompt in the presbytery

Arrange to meet before the course to prepare the paperwork.

After a session to prepare the paperwork, the taught lessons are:
