Pope Francis declared 2025 a year of Jubilee, something which happens every 25 years. The theme for 2025 is ‘Pilgrims of Hope’. It began on December 24th as Pope Francis opened the ‘Holy Door’ in St. Peter’s Basilica.

The Jubilee Year will end on January 6th, the feast of the Epiphany, in 2026. During this time Catholics throughout the world will have the possibility of obtaining a plenary indulgence for the forgiveness of sins for themselves or deceased relatives.
