St Anne Line children performed the first ever Children’s Nativity Play of our church on Saturday 21st December 2024 at 3pm in the church. It was a wonderful spectacle to behold. All the children were outstanding and were supported by our young organist. At the end of the play there was an outburst of applause for all the participants.
There were well over 60 people in attendance and the parish hall tables were absolutely full (and more) as people gathered for refreshments after the play. The children were then rewarded by Fr Barto with a box of Christmas chocolates for all their hard work.
Of course, we should also thank all who were involved in the preparation: working with the children to rehearse the play, decorating the stage and the arduous task of putting together all the costumes including much, indeed lots of, sewing. Thanks is also due to those who worked on preparing the hall – putting up tables and chairs, serving refreshments, washing up and at the end clearing up. Lastly, but certainly not least, we should also give thanks to the parents who made the effort to bring their children along to all the rehearsals so that they could participate in this wonderful celebration of the birth of Jesus. I am sure everyone in the parish is looking forward to the next one at Christmas 2025!
