Our Common Home – Parish Voting Results. Plan updated July 16th 2025
Towards the end of summer 2024 we asked you to vote on ideas that we, as a parish, could carry out in support of Laudato Si – Pope Francis’ encyclical, on the problem of the climate crisis, which urges each of us to take some action for the benefit of God’s Creation.
The results are now available below together with feedback on implementation of the ideas which you provided. We thank you very much for your participation in this process of care for our Common Home. “God saw all that He had made and indeed it was very good.”
Your Ideas – put into practice
- We held an Outdoor Mass and picnic on Sunday 18th May 2025.
- In terms of An overseas project we did support the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, im Advent 2024. During Lent 2025 we supported Aid to the Church in Need (ACN). Also we promoted Missio donations(via RedBox and also by Direct Debit).
- We will be aiming to set up a Car Free Day at church.
- We encourage parishioners to participate in Car Sharing to travel to church (where possible).

- We carried out Rewilding in the parish grounds in Spring 2025. This also covered your ideas on Help with Parish Gardens and Plant new trees & plants.
- More news of parish events – these are now published in the newsletter and on our website as well as the Parish Facebook and the Social Committee Facebook pages.
- Charity project outside – see above for ACN plus Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. We will be supporting the Redemptorist Mission in September 2025.
- Prayer for God to protect the Earth – We will be praying Prayer for Creation in September 2025 during the Season of Creation (Sept 1st – Oct 4th)
- Retreat – we visited Tyburn Convent on 27th February and also Walsingham on 24th May 2025.
