September 1st – October 4th is when the Christian family unites worldwide in prayer and action to care for our common home. We all share a common call to care for creation, and this year’s theme is “Living Water”, inspired by the vision the prophet Ezekiel had thousands of years ago.
Pope Leo: ‘It is not yet too late’ to turn destruction into life. Pope Leo XIV encourages Christians to embrace ecological conversion, transform destruction into life, and renew their commitment to caring for creation and the poor.

- Say No to plastic cutlery and straws. Disposable cutlery and straws are among the worst plastic pollution culprits. They get used once, for a few minutes and are then thrown away. Keep metal or wooden utensils in your bag or travel pack.
- Wash clothes in cold water. Not only does it save water but colours last longer and clothes retain their shape and size.
- Carry Your Own Cup – we throw away 25 billion styrofoam coffee cups each year. Even the paper cups are lined with plastic. Many coffee shops now offer discounts for bringing your own cup.
