Please find below a new set of resources that we at Brentwood Caritas have been working on to help you engage with your local politicians. We hope you find them useful!
On our webpage, you will find a series designed as a foundational guide to help you and your parish engage thoughtfully with politicians on some of the most urgent issues of our time: poverty, refugees and the environment.
Each focuses on a different area, offering practical ways to connect the daily conversations happening in society with the values of our faith. Inspired primarily by Catholic Social Teaching, they aim to encourage informed, constructive engagement while remaining politically neutral and avoiding references to parties or individual candidates. Their purpose is to help Catholics bring faith, conscience and compassion into public life with confidence and clarity.
We hope these documents support you in the upcoming local elections and in further conversations with your parishioners that are rooted in faith, helping shape future policies, elections, and debates.
