Advent week 3 – Gaudete Sunday

We now move into week 3 of Advent, known as Gaudete Sunday (Gaudete meaning ‘Joy’). Some have hailed it as a victory, others less so. As I’m sure most people will know, Pope Francis was advised by his doctors not to travel to COP28 and so was unable to attend as he had planned. He did, however, give a very strong message which was conveyed by Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin.
