Listen to God

‘This is my beloved Son; listen to him’” (Mark 9:7)

God is always speaking to us. We just need to listen. During Lent we have some extra opportunities to do so. One way is to engage in Lectio Divina, perhaps the oldest prayer of the church. Each Friday during Lent we will be praying Lectio Divina in the parish hall after the morning mass.

All are welcome to come along to partake in this practice whether you have been doing this for years or have never done so before.

Lectio Divina is a prayerful and contemplative reading of scripture. We read (and listen) to God’s word. We pray with it.

Elsewhere on this website we have a more detailed explanation. Feel free to read this first, if you wish, or just turn up. Some brief instruction will be given at the sessions.

Although not part of the practice, and certainly not mandatory, there is an opportunity to get together for coffe afterwards for any who wish to do so.
